COPYRIGHT AND LICENSING POLICY

MADIA: Jurnal Humas dan Media Kontemporer is committed to promoting the dissemination of knowledge through the principles of Open Access while respecting the intellectual property rights of authors. This Copyright and Licensing Policy governs copyright ownership, publication rights, reuse of published materials, and the rights and responsibilities of authors and users of articles published in the journal. This policy is based on internationally recognized best practices in scholarly publishing and open-access principles that support the broad dissemination of scientific knowledge.

1. Copyright Ownership

Copyright of all articles published in MADIA remains with the author(s). Authors retain full intellectual property rights to their scholarly work and are not required to transfer copyright ownership to the journal or publisher.

By submitting and publishing an article in MADIA, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right to:

  • Publish the article as the first publisher.
  • Reproduce, distribute, and archive the article in various formats and media.
  • Provide open access to the article through the journal platform and scholarly indexing services.
  • Store and distribute the article for preservation and scholarly communication purposes.

2. Publication License

All articles published in MADIA are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license permits anyone to read, download, copy, distribute, print, share, adapt, translate, and build upon the work for any purpose, including commercial use, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and MADIA as the first publisher.

3. User Rights

Under the CC BY 4.0 License, users are permitted to:

  • Access and read articles free of charge.

  • Use the content for educational, research, and commercial purposes.

4. Author Rights

As copyright holders, authors retain the right to:

MADIA operates under a full Open Access policy, meaning that all published articles are freely and permanently available online without subscription fees or access restrictions. The journal believes that open access to research promotes the exchange of knowledge, increases citation impact, and enhances the academic and societal value of scholarly publications.

7. Self-Archiving Policy

MADIA permits and encourages authors to self-archive the published version of their articles in:

  • Institutional repositories.
  • Subject-specific repositories.
  • Personal websites.
  • Legitimate academic networking platforms.

Authors are required to provide complete citation information and a link to the official published version available on the MADIA website.

8. Author Responsibilities

Authors warrant that:

  • The submitted article is an original work and does not infringe upon the copyright or intellectual property rights of any third party.
  • All necessary permissions have been obtained for the use of copyrighted materials.
  • The article does not contain unlawful content or violate the intellectual property rights of others.
  • The authors bear full responsibility for the content of the published work.

In the event of copyright disputes or intellectual property claims, the author(s) shall be responsible for resolving such matters in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
