IMPLEMENTATION OF THE JOURNALISTIC CODE OF ETHICS IN CRIME REPORTING IN KONTEKS.CO.ID MEDIA

Modern developments have made online media a primary source of information. However, not all media outlets properly implement the Journalistic Code of Ethics. This study analyzes the application of Articles 4 and 5 of the Journalistic Code of Ethics in crime reporting on Konteks.co.id using a qualitative case study approach. The results show that Konteks.co.id has strictly implemented the code of ethics through a multi-level evaluation mechanism, checks and balances, and ensuring news accuracy. Crime reporting always adheres to the 5W1H principles and the Journalistic Code of Ethics as the primary guideline in the reporting, processing, and publication process. Crime reporting must adhere to the Journalistic Code of Ethics, including the use of illustrations and the unauthorized upload of photographs.
