Plagiarism Policy
The J-SIKOM Journal Editorial Team recognizes that plagiarism is unacceptable and has established the following policy detailing specific actions (penalties) to be taken when plagiarism is discovered in articles submitted for publication in the J-SIKOM journal. Where previously, articles/journals to be uploaded had to have gone through a plagiarism check with a maximum plagiarism percentage of 10%
Definition:
Plagiarism is an act intentionally or unintentionally to obtain or attempt to obtain credit or value for a scientific work by quoting one or all of the scientific works and/or works of other parties which are recognized as scientific works, without citing the source accurately and completely.
For that, then:
Articles must be original, unpublished, and not evaluated for other publications. Material obtained orally from other sources must be properly recorded so that it can be distinguished from the original text. If plagiarism is revealed, the Editor-in-Chief is responsible for reviewing the article and will approve action based on the level of plagiarism revealed, in accordance with the rules below:
Plagiarism Rate
1. Plagiarize several short sentences from other articles without citing the source.
Action: The author is issued a warning and requests to amend the text and citations appropriately.
2. Plagiarizing large portions of other articles without proper citations and not citing the sources.
Action: The submitted article is rejected for publication in the J-SIKOM Journal and the author may be punished because it is not permitted to be published in the J-SIKOM Journal
Because everyone signs the J-SIKOM Journal Publication Ethics Statement Form, all article authors are responsible for the content of the articles they submit. If an article is found to be plagiarized, all authors will face the same punishment. If it is confirmed that the author submitted a paper to the J-SIKOM journal while also submitting it to another journal, and this overlap is discovered during the review process or after publication, action is taken as follows point 2 above. If plagiarism is found to be outside the standards mentioned above, the J-SIKOM Journal editor has the authority to impose penalties in accordance with the editorial team's policy.
