Publication Ethics

Journal Of Technopreneurship And Information System (JTIS) is a journal published under the Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah University of Bengkulu. This journal will discuss the theme of research related to Technopreneurship, Databases, Big data, and Data mining and related to information systems that have never been published before. This scientific code of ethics statement is a statement of the code of ethics of all parties involved in the publication process of this scientific journal, namely managers, editors, bestiary partners/reviewers, and authors/authors. This scientific publication code of ethics statement is based on the Head of LIPI Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, which in essence upholds three ethical values in publications, namely

  1. Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of interest in the management of publications;
  2. Fairness, which is giving authorship rights to those who are entitled as authors; and
  3. Honesty, which is free from duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Chief Editor :

  1. Determine the journal name, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation if necessary.
  2. Determine the membership of the editor.
  3. Define the relationship between the publisher, editors, reviewers, and other parties.
  4. Respect the confidentiality of contributing researchers, authors, editors, and reviewers.
  5. Implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
  6. Conduct a review of journal policies and communicate them to authors, editors, bestiary partners, and readers.
  7. Establish code of conduct guidelines for editors and bestary partners.
  8. Publish the journal regularly.
  9. Ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publishing.
  10. Build cooperation and marketing networks.
  11. Improving the quality of the journal.
  12. Preparing licenses and other legal aspects.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Editor

Editors provide comments on the author's writing so that readers can understand what the author wants to convey, through comments written on the manuscript and or discussion facilities on the journal website.

  1. The editor provides comments on the author's writing by EYD (Improved Spelling) or language that is by the standardization of the journal.
  2. Editors strive to improve the quality of publications on an ongoing basis;
  3. Editors prioritize freedom of opinion objectively,
  4. Editors submit corrections, clarifications, withdrawals, and apologies if necessary,
  5. The editor ensures that the author's writing does not involve racism or anything that can harm the publisher and coordinates the author's writing with the editor-in-chief of the publisher if the writing is slightly controversial.
  6. The Editor receives, reviews, and follows up on complaints from all parties involved in journal publishing;
  7. The editors support initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics,
  8. Editors do not defend their own, authors', or third parties' opinions which may lead to unobjective decisions,
  9. Editors encourage authors/writers so that they can make improvements to the paper until it is suitable for publication.
  10. Editors layout manuscripts to be published so that they fit the journal template.
  11. The editor assists the editor-in-chief in finalizing the collection of manuscripts before printing and publication, especially in terms of language, format, and layout.

Duties and Responsibilities of Reviewers

  1. Provide objective and unbiased written feedback on the scientific value and contribution of the manuscript to the development of knowledge;
  2. Indicates whether the writing is sufficiently clear, complete, and relevant and whether the manuscript is appropriate for the scope of the journal;
  3. Not provide personal criticism or comments; and
  4. Maintain the confidentiality of the manuscript, by not discussing it with unrelated parties, or disclosing the information contained in the manuscript to other parties.

Duties and Responsibilities of Website Administrator

The Website Administrator is the person responsible for managing the journal's website. Specifically, the scope of duties of the Website Administrator is as follows:

  1. Setting up the journal website;
  2. Configuring system options and managing user accounts;
  3. Registering editors, reviewers, and authors;
  4. Managing journal features;
  5. Viewing report statistics; and
  6. Upload/publish accepted papers
