Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

                                                              INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHOR

The manuscript must be an original research paper that is sufficient to provide new research for mathematics education. Authors agree to submit their papers electronically using the Math-UMB.EDU Journal online submission procedure. Appropriate authors should also provide such manuscripts not available for discussion elsewhere. The editor will respond to submissions that are not followed by this procedure.(ARTICLE TEMPLATE)

  1. The manuscript should be written in Indonesian or English and have never been published or is not in the process of submission for publication to other media and does not contain elements of plagiarism.
  2. The manuscript may take the form of research, case studies, or literary studies.
  3. The author should register as an Author. The guides to register and submit the paper is at the bottom.
  4. The manuscript will be published in Math-UMB.EDU after being reviewed by peer reviewers.
  5. The manuscript should be prepared according to the following author guidelines and Template.
  6. The manuscript has never been published in other print media, printed with one space on A4 paper. 6-10 pages long and submitted no later than 3 months before publication in hardcopy on A4 paper as many as 2 copies and softcopy, typed using a MS Word word processor. Incoming manuscripts are evaluated by the Editor.
  7. Articles published in this journal include articles on mathematics and its learning in elementary, junior high, high school, and tertiary institutions in the form of: research findings, mathematics learning, practical experience, literature review, conceptual ideas, mathematics clinics, or mathematics recreation.
  8. All articles are written in essay form, accompanied by the headings of each section, except for the introduction which is presented without sub-chapters. The sub-chapter title rating is stated as follows.

Rank 1 (all capital letters are bold and aligned with the left edge)

Rank 2 (bold fonts are aligned with the left edge)

Rank 3 (case and lowercase italics flush with the left edge)

  1. Each article must be accompanied by (a) an abstract in English (50-100 words), (b) key words, (c) the identity of the author (without an academic degree). (d) introduction (without sub-chapters) which contains the background and purpose or scope of the writing and (e) a list of references. The results of the study are presented in the following systematics. (a) title, (b) author's name, (c) abstract, (d) key words, (e) introduction (without sub-chapters) which contains a discussion of the literature and research objectives, (f) research methods, (g) ) results, (h) discussion, (i) conclusions and suggestions, and (j) list of references.
  2. The list of references is presented following the procedure as in the following example and is sorted alphabetically and chronologically.

  1. The procedure for presenting quotations, references, tables, and pictures follows the provisions in the Guidelines for Writing Scientific Papers. Theses, Theses, Dissertations, Articles, Papers, and Research Reports (Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu, 2013), articles are typed with due regard to the rules regarding the use of punctuation and spelling contained in the General Guidelines for Indonesian Spelling which are enhanced (Depdikbud, 1987).
  2. All articles are reviewed anonymously by reviewers appointed by the editor according to their field of expertise. Article writers are given the opportunity to make improvements (revisions) of articles based on recommendations/suggestions from review partners or editors. Confirmation of loading or rejection of articles will be notified in writing or via e-mail.
  3. Trial-print checks and edits are carried out by the editor and/or by involving the author, articles that are already in test-print form can be canceled by the editor if they are found to be problematic.
  4. Everything related to licensing of citations or the use of computer software for the manufacture of manuscripts or other matters related to intellectual property rights carried out by the author of the article, along with the legal consequences that may arise because of it, are the full responsibility of the author of the article.
