Background: Hospitalization can disrupt children’s sleep through environmental changes, altered routines, and psychological stress. Practical non-pharmacological interventions are needed to support sleep in pediatric nursing care. Guided imagery is a relaxation technique that uses structured visualization to promote relaxation. This study examined the effectiveness of guided imagery in improving sleep quality among hospitalized children. Methods: A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest control group design was used. Thirty hospitalized children aged 3–10 years at Buah Hati Ciputat Hospital were assigned to an intervention group (n = 15) or a control group (n = 15). The control group received standard care, while the intervention group received standard care plus guided imagery. Sleep quality was assessed using the Children’s Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ), and data were analyzed with the Mann–Whitney test. Results: Baseline mean CSHQ scores were 27.80 ± 7.25 in the intervention group and 25.73 ± 2.05 in the control group, with no significant difference (p = 0.738). After the intervention, the mean CSHQ score decreased to 19.67 ± 3.11 in the intervention group, compared with 27.20 ± 7.29 in the control group. The between-group difference was significant (Z = −3.667; p < 0.001), with a large effect size (r = 0.67). Conclusion: Guided imagery added to standard care effectively improved sleep quality among hospitalized children and may serve as a feasible non-pharmacological nursing intervention in pediatric inpatient settings.
