Corrections, Retractions & Withdrawal

Jurnal AVICENNA

1

Correction

Corrections may be published when errors or omissions do not invalidate the main findings but affect interpretation, attribution, metadata, author information, tables, figures, or other important details. The notice will be linked to the original article.

2

Retraction

Retraction of a publication may be appropriate when findings are unreliable due to major errors or ethical misconduct; substantial plagiarism; unethical research occurs; duplicate or fraudulent publication occurs; peer review or authorship is manipulated; or other serious issues render the record unreliable.

3

Expression of Concern

An Expression of Concern may be issued when credible concerns exist but evidence is inconclusive, an investigation is ongoing, or the responsible institution cannot provide a timely resolution.

4

Withdrawal Before Publication

Authors may submit a request for withdrawal before publication with a written reason. Withdrawal is not automatic after peer review or production is underway, especially if integrity issues remain unresolved.

5

Removal of Published Content

Complete removal is exceptional and is only considered for urgent legal, privacy, safety, or court order reasons. Where possible, bibliographic metadata and explanatory notices will remain.

6

Notification Standards

Official notices identify the affected article, adequately explain the reasons so readers understand the action, and remain freely accessible.
