BIOHERBISIDA BERBAHAN EKSTRAK AIR DARI ORGAN BATANG RATUN TANAMAN SORGUM YANG DIBUDIDAYAKAN DI LAHAN INCEPTISOLS
Abstract
Allelopathy is a term that expresses the natural occurrence of chemical inhibitors by plants that inhibit the growth of surrounding plants. The source of extracts derived from sorghum plantlets of different varieties has different bioherbicide potential. This study aimed to test the aqueous extract of the stem organs of sorghum plantlets cultivated on Inceptisol land against test plant germination. The stalks as water extract material were prepared from February to June 2023 at Kandang Mas, Bengkulu City and the bioassay test was conducted in July 2023 at Bentiring Permai, Bengkulu City. The study applied a single-factor, completely randomized design. The treatments applied were control, Super 2 stem, Suri 4 stem, and Ketan stem. The experimental unit was a petri dish, and the experiment was repeated four times. Method The bioassay method was applied to Petri dishes in this experiment. Each Petri dish was given 10 ml of water extract, and 25 mung bean seeds of the Vima 1 variety were planted and incubated for three days. The results showed that the water extract derived from the ratoon stem of Super 2 in particular and all treatments of water extract from the ratoon stem of sorghum (Ketan and Suri 4) in general were able to inhibit the germination of the highest test plant compared to the control.
