HUBUNGAN ANTARA TINGKAT KESEHATAN DAN HARGA DIRI TERHADAP DEPRESI PADA LANSIA

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the relationship between health-level self-esteem and depression in the elderly at the Tresna Werdha Bengkulu Social Home. The research design is a quantitative experiment with a research design using a cross-sectional approach. Data were collected using the SF 36 questionnaire, Rosenberg self-esteem, and Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS). Research data was analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Spearman rho test. The results of the research show that the level of health among the elderly at the Tresna Werdha Bengkulu Social Home is the highest in the low category, namely 33 elderly (50.8%), the highest level of self-esteem in the elderly is in the low category, namely 37 elderly (56.9%), and the level of Depression in the elderly is mostly in the moderate category, namely 37 elderly (56.9%). In conclusion, there is a relationship between health level self-esteem, and depression in the elderly at the Tresna Werdha Bengkulu Social Home. The suggestion is that nursing staff who are comprehensively able to provide nursing care to overcome the problem of depression, including creating good social support, coping behavior, exercise, and religious relationships.
