Abstract

The research aimed to determine blood pressure before and after laughter therapy in hypertensive patients in the working area of ​​the Telaga Dewa Community Health Center, Bengkulu City. The research design is a quantitative experiment with a quasi-experimental research design. The research data was analyzed univariately and bivariately using the T test. The results showed that the average systolic and diastolic blood pressure before being given laughter therapy was 143.47/90.67 mmHg, after being given laughter therapy the average systolic and diastolic blood pressure decreased to 142.2/75.67. mmHg. The statistical test results show a statistical significance value of systolic blood pressure of 0.001 < (α = 0.05) and diastolic blood pressure of 0.008 < (α = 0.05), this means that there is an effect of intervention therapy through laughter in lowering blood pressure in humans. hypertension sufferers in the Telaga area. Dewa Bengkulu City Health Center Working Area. It was concluded that there was a decrease in blood pressure in hypertension sufferers in the working area of ​​the Telaga Dewa Community Health Center, Bengkulu City after laughter therapy was carried out. Suggestion: Community health centers can consider providing nursing intervention in the form of non-pharmacological therapy to lower blood pressure in hypertensive patients.
