Pengaruh Kombinasi Nafas Dalam dan Aromaterapi Jeruk Manis dalam Menurunkan Kecemasan pada Pasien Pre-Operasi Sectio Caesarea di Rumah Sakit Tiara Sella Kota Bengkulu

Abstract

The birth process is an emotional experience that involves physical and psychological mechanisms. One type of delivery process that is carried out is surgery or Sectio Caesarea. Delivery by Sectio Caesarea. It can cause anxiety both before and after surgery. The interventions that can be done to overcome non-pharmacological anxiety are deep breathing techniques and aromatherapy. The study aimed to determine the effect of a combination of deep breathing and sweet orange aromatherapy in reducing the anxiety of preoperative Sectio Caesarea patients at Tiara Sella Hospital, Bengkulu City. The One Group Pre-Post Test Design is the research design utilized in this study, which combines quantitative research with a rapid experimental technique. Prior to the intervention, the univariate analysis revealed that the distribution of anxiety frequency was as follows: 19 individuals (95%) had severe anxiety, and 1 person (5%), had moderate anxiety. After the intervention, the distribution of anxiety frequency was as follows: mild anxiety in 7 individuals (35%), moderate anxiety in 12 individuals (60%) and severe anxiety in 1 individual (5%). The bivariate analysis revealed that the combination of deep breathing and sweet orange aroma therapy was effective in reducing anxiety in preoperative patients prior to caesarean sections at Tiara Sella Hospital Bengkulu City, with a p value of 0.000. The study's findings are intended to serve as a guide for conquering and lowering anxiety in individuals undergoing preoperative caesarean sections.
