Abstract

Hypertension is a persistent increase in blood pressure with the criteria of cystollic blood pressure above 140 mmHg and diastole blood pressure above 90 mmHg and can cause disturbances in the blood vessels of the whole body, studied by giving isometric handgrip therapy on a handgrip dynamometer. To determine the effectiveness of isotonic exercise with handgrip on blood pressure of hypertensive patients in the working area of the Jalan Gedang Health Center, Bengkulu City in 2023. Preexperimental quantitative design using one group pretest posttest design test with a total of 15 respondent samples with purposive sampling technique. Data analysis using Paired T-test with significance <0, 05), it was found that there was an effect of providing Isometric Handgrip Exercises intervention with 30% strength to hypertensive patients for the body to increase muscle strength and improve pulse and blood pressure.
