Abstract

Asthma is a condition characterized by chronic inflammation of the airways. Every year, the World Health Organization (WHO) estimates there are 250,000 cases of asthma worldwide. More than 80% of cases of asthma-related diseases occur in poor countries and third world countries. The purpose of this study was to determine the efficacy of diaphragmatic breathing exercise and yoga pranayama on increasing peak expiratory flow (APE) in asthmatic patients at a health center in a city south of Bengkulu.The type of analysis used in this study is quantitative analysis, which employs a design for two groups of subjects to be tested before and after the study. Hash analysis between the APE value of Pranayama Yoga Practice and Diaphragm Breathing Exercise using Independent Samples Test Independent Samples Test (t) value has a p-value of 0.683 and a score of 0.412 for the test. There is no difference between the APE Value for Yoga Pranayama Exercise and the APE Value because the p value is greater than 0.05, it is stated.
