Abstract

Toilet training is one way to teach children to control bowel movements (BAB) and control urine (BAK). It is important to teach children to be independent in ablution and defecation. Toilet training is good for teaching children good habits from an early age. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is an effect of health education with audiovisual media on the independence of toilet training in preschool children. The research method used is a pre-experimental design pre-test and post-test group with a quantitative approach. The population of this study was all preschool children in the working area of ​​the Regno Pau Nusa Inda Health Center as many as 27 people. Sampling is commonly used as a sampling method: before the intervention, the ability to develop as expected (55.6%) developed very well after receiving the intervention or letter (100%). Before the intervention, it was found that the independence before and after the intervention was as expected (0.7%) and after the intervention was very good (92.6%) before and after the intervention (7.%) had not developed. The provision of audiovisual aids has a negative impact on the ability and independence of children in toilet training. 0.05 which means there is an effect. It is hoped that more researchers can use other health education methods for toilet training.
