Abstract

Preschool-aged children are vulnerable to anxiety during treatment at healthcare facilities. The Family-Centered Care (FCC) approach is a service strategy that involves the family as the primary partner in decision-making and the child's care process. This approach is believed to contribute to reducing children's anxiety levels. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the implementation of FCC and the anxiety levels of preschool children in Semidang Alas District, Seluma Regency. The study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 30 preschool children and their families were selected as respondents through a total sampling technique. The instruments used were the Family-Centered Care Questionnaire (FCCQ) to measure the implementation of FCC and the Spence Children's Anxiety Scale (SCAS) to measure the children's anxiety levels. Data analysis was performed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that 56.7% of respondents rated the implementation of FCC as good, and 53.3% of children were in the low anxiety category. Bivariate testing showed a significant relationship between the implementation of FCC and children's anxiety levels (p-value = 0.004). These findings indicate that the FCC approach plays an important role in reducing anxiety in preschool-aged children.
