Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease with a prevalence that continues to increase, where this disease begins with damage to insulin function, which can result in hyperglycemia and the risk of serious complications. Therefore, good management of blood sugar levels can prevent this from happening. In addition to pharmacological treatment, DM can also be overcome with non-pharmacological treatment using herbal plants, one way is to boil it and then drink it, water from Moringa leaves. This study aims to determine the effect of boiled Moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera) on reducing blood sugar levels in type II DM patients in the work area of the UPT Telaga Dewa Community Health Center in Bengkulu City. This study used a quasi-experimental method with a One Group Pre-Post Test design. Samples were taken using purposive sampling, 15 respondents. The results of the Paired Sample T Test showed a p value of 0.000, the p value is smaller than the α value (0.05), so it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Thus, it means that there is an effect of boiled moringa leaves in reducing blood sugar levels in type II DM patients in the working area of the UPT Telaga Dewa Community Health Center, Bengkulu City.
