Abstract

Elderly is the advanced stage of a life process that characterized  a decrease in the body's ability to adapt to environmental stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of the effectiveness of Kegel exercises with yoga exercises on decreasing urination in the elderly in the Tresna Werdha Fence of nursing home. The research design used is quantitative using this research design using Quasy Experiment with the design used is the design of the Pre and Post Test. The results of univariate analysis for the distribution of respondents based on age were mostly aged 60-74 about 15 respondents (50%). As for the distribution of respondents based on gender, namely male 12 respondents (46.7%) and female 16 respondents (53.3%). In the Kegel exercise group showed p = 0,000, so there was an effect after kegel exercises, the yoga exercise intervention group got p = 0,000, in there was an effect after doing yoga exercises. The results of the independent t-test analysis showed that the Independent t test results obtained a significant value of 0.049.  It can be concluded that there is a difference between Kegel exerci and yoga exercises in decreasing urination in the elderly in the Tresna Werdha Fence of nursing home. It is hoped that the fence’s staff can provide kegel and yoga exercises to reduce the frequency of urination for the elderly.
