Circumcision is a common minor surgical procedure performed on elementary school-aged children. Despite being relatively simple, this procedure often causes anxiety that may affect the child’s psychological experience. This study aimed to analyze the factors associated with anxiety levels among school-aged children undergoing circumcision in Bengkulu City. An analytic cross-sectional design with purposive sampling was employed, involving 80 respondents. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and a modified Children’s Anxiety Scale. The results indicated significant associations between age, knowledge, previous experience, and parental support with anxiety levels (p < 0.05). In conclusion, individual and environmental factors play important roles in influencing children’s anxiety prior to circumcision. Health professionals are encouraged to provide education and psychological support to minimize preoperative anxiety in children.

Ummi SafitriyaniFerasinta Ferasinta

Tuberculosis (TB) is a contagious infectious disease that remains a serious health problem worldwide, particularly in developing countries, with the number of cases tending to increase each year. Its widespread impact on public health makes TB a global challenge that requires ongoing attention. This study aims to examine the association between physical housing conditions and the incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis in the service area of the Sidomulyo Health Center, Bengkulu City. The research method used is analytical with a Instant study design to investigate the interrelationships between various aspects of the physical environment factors of the home—including ventilation, lighting, occupancy density, and temperature—and the incidence of pulmonary TB. The study sample consisted of 30 respondents, equally divided between the pulmonary TB group (15 individuals) and the non-pulmonary TB group (15 individuals). A statistically significant association was found between ventilation area and pulmonary TB incidence (p = 0.028). A significant correlation was identified between lighting levels and Incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis (p = 0.001). A significant correlation was also identified between occupancy concentration and incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis (p = 0.015). There was a significant correlation between room temperature and incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis (p = 0.013). The results of this study emphasize the importance of adopting a sterile and healthy lifestyle, and efforts to maintain residential area comfort index. These actions have the potential to improve people's standard of living while reducing the potential for the spread of TB

Rini MaryaniLussyefrida Yanti

Asthma is one of the most prevalent chronic respiratory disorders affecting children (Gina, 2022). It is marked by symptoms such as breathlessness, wheezing, coughing, and reduced expiratory airflow, which arise due to persistent inflammation, heightened airway sensitivity (bronchospasm), excessive mucus production, and structural changes in the airways. The purpose of this research is to examine the association between smoking habits, physical activity, body mass index to bronchial asthma. The research design used was quantitative analytic research with a descriptive cross-sectional study design method. The sampling method used was purposive sampling. The number of samples used in this study were 55 respondents. The majority of survey participants in the East Ring Health Center work area were determined to have mild smoking habits (47.3%), light physical activity (45.5%), and a BMI that is considered to be low (40.0%).Most respondents also experienced mild bronchial asthma (47.3%). The statistical analysis revealed a significant association between smoking habits, levels of physical activity, and body mass index with the occurrence of bronchial asthma, as indicated by a p-value of 0.000 for each variable, which is lower than the threshold of 0.05.This indicates that the three factors contribute significantly to the severity of bronchial asthma in respondents.
Muhamad Rivaldo PratamaAndri Kusuma Wijaya
