PENGEMBANGAN STRATEGI PEMBELAJARAN PAI PENDEKATAN BUDAYA MELAYU
Abstract
This study aims to analyze the development of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning strategies through a Malay cultural approach in the context of modern education. The Malay cultural approach is considered highly relevant to Islamic values because Malay society is closely associated with the philosophy of “adat bersendi syarak, syarak bersendi Kitabullah.” This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach through library research methods. Data were obtained from books, scientific journals, academic articles, and documents related to Islamic education and Malay culture. The results show that Malay culture-based PAI learning strategies are able to improve students’ contextual understanding of Islamic values, strengthen religious character, increase student participation, and instill moral and social values through the integration of local culture. These learning strategies can be implemented through exemplary methods, habituation, contextual learning, cultural discussions, Islamic Malay arts, and the use of local wisdom-based learning media. This study concludes that the Malay cultural approach in PAI learning is an effective strategy in building humanistic, contextual Islamic education rooted in community cultural values.
