Abstract

Depression is a psychiatric difficulty after a stroke that often occurs, privelence shifts 20% - 65% of patients, but in general it will be less attention. Both clinical and family workers often accept that depression is a reasonable response to various physical and useful problems experienced by strokes. The reason for this research was to find out the experience of the elderly patient facing post-stroke depression in the working area of ​​the Bengkulu City Health Center. What is used is qualitative research with a phenomenoogi approach, witnesses plus as many as 4 people taken according to the standard of consideration and avoidance. The results of the study were obtained by 3 themes1) aspects of knowledge, 2) aspects of depression, 3) aspects of post-stroke treatment experience. Sources have an understanding of strokes. The conclusion of this study is the informant has an understanding of strokes. The most causes are history of hypertension and cholesterol and informants understand that the possibility of the elderly can experience symptoms of stroke. The conclusion in this study develops more aspects of depression experienced by patients in depth. Like what the trigger factor of the patient can experience depression and explore things that might be felt beforehand before experiencing a stroke
